Semi-Abstract Contemporary Art

In my opinion the creation of an abstract, or semi-abstract painting, expresses the inner most thoughts and personality of an artist more than that of any other genre. It is a truly blank canvas. No view to contemplate, No tangible image to copy, Just the thoughts and imagination of the mind, although occasionally the use of a model or prop is a necessary reminder.

I really do like to indulge my artistic thoughts to develop ideas and paint in total freedom. I also like to work within a disciplined theme and avoid total bland chaos. To paint without discipline is to paint without skill or any understanding of how the end product will materialise.

Sometimes I am commissioned to re-develop an existing painting solely for a specific interior design concept. I find this to be an interesting exercise particularly when the final painting compliments a client's interior decor to perfection.
